Getting credit is a simple, fair, and meaningful desire for any employee.
If you put your heart and soul into something, you want to be proud of it. Sometimes, having your name attached to that work is an important signifier of that pride. Sure, it's just a name, but as Erin Brockovich would say, that is your work!
This marketing employee was sick and tired of the new guy copying and pasting their work into presentations that he would then give to the entire company week after week. The employee and their team tried to raise this issue with human resources and even with the CEO, to no avail. Incompetent management? What a surprise!
After attempting to handle this professionally, the employee needed to start taking matters into their own hands. As several folks in the comments section of this only community suggested, it's worth it for this team to document everything they do. At the next presentation, they might as well interrupt as a unit and claim their own efforts. If this dude can't allow other people to be rewarded for their hard work, then he shouldn't belong in any company culture.
